    Water-struck bricks have been part of our product portfolio for several years. The shaping process ensures that these bricks are neither completely regular nor precise. For example, they have fewer sharp corners and edges.<\/p>\n

    During construction, a reasonable thickness of mortar should be utilised to accommodate the natural variance in brick dimensions, especially when comparing the front and back. The tolerances are within the standard range but should be taken into account.<\/p>\n

    Various mansory bonds, such as the random bond or the stretcher bond<\/a>, are possible in this format as well.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

    What are retro bricks?<\/strong><\/p>\n

    During firing, the sorting is fired at 1120 \u2013 1140 degrees for an extended period.<\/p>\n

    These high temperatures are above the sintering point and cause the bricks to virtually melt. During the firing process, they lose their original shape and are sometimes so deformed that they stand out from the wall giving it a 3D effect.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

    The unmistakable trademark of our original circular kiln coal-fired bricks, are their striking and irregular coal firings. The coal burns onto the surface of the bricks as a coal crust, creating unique bricks.<\/p>\n

    During firing, coal often combines with sand and salt, creating very different characteristics. These are sometimes light, sometimes shiny, and sometimes dark like coal.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

    Clay slurries<\/h2>\n

    A modern, bright look for your facade<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

    During production, light clay slurries are applied to the blanks before firing. These slurries burn into the brick, creating a bright facade with an interesting an undulating surface. With a clay slurry, the clicker's shard colour still shines through.<\/p>\n

    Since it is a pure natural slurry and is applied irregularly, the finished fired product always varies in application and effect.<\/p>\n

    After the normal firing process, the final dark blue-gray to light gray sorting is fired once again via reduction firing in the steaming oven. Through this refining process, bricks become uniformly gray.<\/p>\n

    Through so-called steaming, based on our product lines \u00bbExtruded Premium\u00ab and \u00bbWater-struck Premium\u00ab, we can offer a wide range of differing gray shades, which are increasingly popular.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>

    A sorting is called a 'foot sorting' when, during processing off the masonry, only the rear of the bricks are faced forward.<\/p>\n

    This creates a more rustic facade, where you can often still see the lath marks from the drying phase.<\/p>\n

    A facade with a brick foot sorting gives a very special texture and liveliness.<\/p>\n

    A large part of our assortments (especially all coal-fired assortments) are manufactured and supplied as alternating assortments. This means that both sides may be turned forward.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

    In order to create ornamentation in masonry, various techniques are often used. Examples include protruding brick rows, arches, and pilasters.<\/p>\n

    H\u00f6gersche layer<\/h2>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

    A popular element of masonry ornamentation is the so-called H\u00f6ger layers. Named after the architect Fritz H\u00f6ger, the protruding and receding bricks form steps in the facade and add a special liveliness.<\/p>\n

    We offer two special brick formats for this, one with a 13.5cm depth and one with a 9cm depth. This way, a visible off-set in the masonry can be achieved with the help of shadow effects.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
