Clay bricks
The sustainable choice.
Clay construction techniques and clay bricks have been known for over 9,000 years. Alongside wood, clay is considered one of the oldest building materials used by humanity.
In modern times, clay as a building material is experiencing a remarkable resurgence. This is partly due to its outstanding CO2 balance, making it one of the most sustainable of all mineral raw materials.
Additionally, its positive impact on living quality as a natural building material is increasingly being appreciated.

Environmentally healthy building material
Advantages of clay bricks
Moisture-regulating
Due to its high absorption capacity, clay can take in moisture and release it when necessary. This effectively regulates the humidity in the indoor air and significantly contributes to a healthy indoor climate. Clay is immune to mold.
Heat storage
Clay stores heat very well, thus improving the living climate and contributing to energy savings when using passive solar energy.
Optimal indoor climate
Clay contributes to a pleasant living environment through its temperature-balancing, odor-neutralizing, and pollutant-absorbing properties.
Excellent energy balance
Producing clay bricks requires only a fraction of the energy needed for the production of concrete or sand-lime bricks.
Clay is circular
Clay building materials can always be reused after demolition and do not need to be disposed of. Clay is 100% recyclable.
Regional building material
Clay is available in large quantities and can be sourced locally. Unlike rare raw materials, clay can be found almost everywhere. This allows it to be mined and processed regionally, resulting in short transportation distances.
Sound insulation
Extruded clay bricks have a high raw density and therefore provide excellent acoustic insulation. Sound reductions of up to 60 dB SPL are possible.
Long-lasting Preservation
Clay bricks draw out excess moisture from surrounding materials, making them perfect for modern timber construction and for renovations and restorations in existing structures.
Fire Protection
Areas of applications
Extruded clay bricks – also known as heavy clay bricks – have a high raw density.
Heavy clay bricks can be used for load-bearing and non-load-bearing interior walls, facing shells, as well as for wall infill and ceiling supports.
For exterior walls, they can only be used in combination with additional protection due to their high absorption capacity.
We offer extruded heavy clay bricks in the following formats:
- RF (240 x 115 x 62mm)
- 2DF perforated (240 x 115 x 113mm)
- 3DF with grip hole (240 x 115 x 175mm)

Natural aesthetics
For us, clay bricks are not just a building material that should be hidden within interior walls as clay boards or in other forms. On the contrary, we recognize their aesthetic power, pleasant texture, and appealing surface that they have to offer.
Out of this respect for the material, we have made it our mission to develop design clay bricks. We aim not only to emphasize their practical use but also to highlight their visual appeal. With the same care that we dedicate to our clinker bricks and thin bricks, we strive to bring out an unparalleled texture and interesting surface designs in our clay bricks.
Inspired by the natural beauty of the material, we have developed a range of colors and surfaces that emphasize and highlight the natural look of the clay brick.
Our design clay bricks subtly showcase how valuable and versatile this material can be. Discover the appealing aesthetics of our bricks and see how they can bring a special, natural touch to any space.

Special considerations
when working with
clay bricks
Clay bricks are only suitable for indoor use and non-load-bearing walls.
Ideally, they should be used with clay mortar.
Subsequent treatment of the wall with clay plaster and clay paint enhances the effects of the clay properties on indoor climate and room acoustics.
