Water-struck press
for incomparable surfaces

01 The water-struck press…
… is a rotary table press with molds that are not sanded, but watered instead.
Several molds are embedded in a rotary table/mold table, which are filled with the soft-pressed clay by a vertical clay cutter.

02 Shaping
Once the clay reaches an ejector stamp, the shaped piece is ejected and falls onto a conveyor belt.
The shaped pieces from this press display a typical "streaky design" and are referred to as water-struck bricks or water-struck clinkers.

03 Processing
The still very moist shaped piece lands on a conveyor belt. Here, the piece is set up by a rotating system and finally placed onto wooden slats. The wooden slats with the shaped pieces are then brought into the drying process.
Further processing takes place with the firing in the ring kiln.
Clinker from the water-struck press
unique in combination with the ring kiln firing.
With the commissioning of the water-struck press in 2014, we are virtually the only manufacturer to combine the special water-struck surface with the uniqueness of the ring kiln firing. The results speak for themselves.
