CircoBrick
by Gillrath
A truly circular stone
made from over 50% brick rubble waste and brick dust.
Unlike other manufacturers, we do not only use ceramic industrial waste such as tile shards or clinker debris but genuinely use waste from construction site demolitions. This allows us to close this material stream in a truly sustainable manner. We collaborate closely with a demolition company for this purpose.
During these demolitions, it is first checked whether simple reuse as demolition bricks is possible. If this is not feasible, these bricks become the starting point and raw material for our CircoBricks. They are processed, cleaned, and then crushed into granules, which we can use as a substitute for primary raw materials.
Urban Mining
The city, with all its built-in raw materials, becomes our material warehouse.
Conservation of environment & nature
… since we require fewer primary raw materials.
CO2 saving
… in drying and firing.
Saving primary raw materials of aprox. 90kg per qm
For every square meter we produce with CircoBrick, we save over 50% of primary raw materials, which we can replace with construction site waste.
Energy savings through the use of secondary raw materials
By using demolition material, we require less energy in the manufacturing process. Specifically, the drying process saves CO2 emissions as it proceeds significantly faster.
Product with a prolonged lifespan
Our CircoBricks have a product lifespan of 120 – 150 years. This saves money, reduces maintenance efforts, and no emissions are required for maintenance measures during the usage phase.
At the end of life: Re-Use or Recycling possible
After the long usage phase, CircoBricks can be reused as demolition bricks (re-use) or as raw materials for new CircoBricks (recycling).
Same quality characteristics as all Gillrath products
Unique colors, surfaces, textures, and quality.
Demolition material directly from the construction site

Our Principles
Recycle or Reuse: Bricks that can be reused will be reused, and we market these with our hybrid assortments (ReNew Bricks). Bricks that can no longer be reused are recycled into our CircoBricks.
Unique colors, surfaces, and textures – that defines Gillrath CircoBricks.
